Non Executive Chair and Members (2), Public Health Agency

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety is seeking to appoint a non-executive Chair and two non-executive Members (x1 Financial Member and x1 Lay Member) to the Public Health Agency (PHA).

The PHA was established in 2009 with the explicit agenda to protect public health and improve health and social wellbeing.  It is a multi-disciplinary, multi-professional body, with a strong regional and local presence.  The PHA has a lead role in protecting the population from infection and environmental hazards through active surveillance and monitoring.

The four key functions of the PHA are:

  1. Operational support;
  2. Advice;
  3. Education;
  4. Training and research.

Essential Criteria for all applicants:

The non-executives require no specific qualifications, however all applicants must meet the following four essential criteria:

Business sense; corporate governance; stakeholder engagement; self awareness and personal contribution.

Additional criteria for Chair Post:

Applicants for the non-executive Chair post must meet the following additional criteria: leadership.

Additional criteria for Financial Member Post

Applicants for the non-executive Financial member post must meet the following additional criteria: financial.

Applicants can apply for one or more category of membership.

  • Chair Remuneration – £33,663 per annum
  • Time Commitment – 3 days per week
  • Member Remuneration – £9,004 per annum
  • Time Commitment – 5 days per month
