The Health and Care Professions Council – protecting the public

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is a regulator of health and care professionals and our aim is to protect the public. To do this, we keep a register of health, psychological and social work professionals who meet our standards for their training, professional skills and behaviour.

Chair of Council:

You will have experience of providing strong non-executive leadership and be able to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability in all of the HCPC’s activities. You will be required to act as an ambassador for the Council, inspiring confidence in the organisation and promoting the organisation’s central commitment to public protection.
Owing to the requirements of our governing legislation, candidates for the Chair of Council role must either be on the HCPC Register or be an existing member of Council.

The HCPC is committed to equality of opportunity and actively guards against unfair discrimination on any grounds (including sexual orientation, religion or beliefs, race, sex, age or disability). We are a UK-wide regulator and encourage applicants from all countries of the UK.

An attendance allowance of £320 per day and incurred expenses is payable for the role.
