Lay Adviser, Public Protection Arrangements Northern Ireland

The Department of Justice has launched a public appointment competition for a Lay Adviser on the Public Protection Arrangements in Northern Ireland (PPANI). These are arrangements which coordinate the response of the statutory agencies and voluntary bodies involved in assessing and managing the risk posed by certain sexual and violent offenders in the community.

The role of the Lay adviser, as a member of the PPANI Strategic Management Board, is to provide an objective lay perspective on the operation of the PPANI arrangements and assist the Board in exercising its functions on their oversight and continuous review.

The role requires a commitment of 8-16 hours per month and attracts remuneration of £2,500 per annum. It will involve some travel within Northern Ireland for which expenses are payable.
