Nine Independent Members sought for the Northern Ireland Policing Board (NIPB)

The Department of Justice has launched a public appointment competition for nine Independent Members of the Northern Ireland Policing Board (NIPB).

The NIPB is an independent public body established under the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000. The Board is responsible for securing the maintenance of the police in Northern Ireland, and has a key role in ensuring the provision of an effective, efficient, impartial and accountable police service which will enjoy the support of all sections of the community. The Board also holds the ChiefConstable to account for the exercise of his functions and those of the police.

The role requires a minimum commitment of 4 days per month and attracts remuneration of £15,000 per annum. It will involve some travel within Northern Ireland for which expenses are payable.
