The First Minister and deputy First Minister invite applications for the position of Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland. The Commissioner is an independent office holder, whose main functions are set out in statute.
The Commissioner’s main role is to maintain the principle of selection on merit in relation to public appointments. The Commissioner publishes a Code of Practice, audits departmental public appointment processes and publishes an annual report.
The First Minister and deputy First Minister wish to appoint a suitable individual to succeed the current Commissioner when they leave the post at the end of July 2015. The Commissioner’s office is located in the Stormont Estate and the successful candidate will be expected to take up appointment on 3 August 2015. The Commissioner is supported by a small administrative team.
- Remuneration: £23,877 per annum
