Chair and Non Executive Directors (x7) sought for the Western Health and Social Care Trust

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Chair and seven Non-Executive Directors to the Western HSC Trust (WHSCT):-  one with specific financial experience.
The Non-Executive Chair and three Non-Executive Directors are to be appointed with effect from 1st August 2015 (including the Director who has specific financial experience) and four Non-Executive Directors with effect from 1st April 2016.
 The WHSCT is one of five HSC Trusts established in 2007 responsible for the delivery of responsive and effective health and care services and for the ownership and management of hospitals and other establishments and facilities.  Each HSC Trust in Northern Ireland is managed directly by a Board of Directors which has corporate responsibility for its operation.  The Board is made up of five executive Directors and seven Non-Executive Directors and a Non-Executive Chair.  Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors are full and equal members of the Board.
Essential Criteria for all applicants
The Non-Executive Directors require no specific formal qualifications however all applicants must meet the following four essential criteria:
Business Sense; Corporate Governance; Stakeholder Engagement; Self Awareness and Personal Contribution.
Applicants for the Non-Executive Chair post must meet the following additional criteria: Leadership.
Additional criteria for Non-Executive Director with specific financial experience
Applicants for the Non-Executive Director with specific financial experience must meet the following additional criteria: Financial management responsibility and experience.
Applicants can apply for one or more category of membership.
  • Chair Remuneration  £29,716 per annum    Time Commitment  3 days per week
  • Director Remuneration  £7,960 per annum   Time Commitment  1 day per week
