Big Lottery Fund – Northern Ireland Committee Members (x2)

Have you ever wanted to support people and communities in need throughout Northern Ireland?
The Big Lottery Fund is the largest distributor of National Lottery good cause funding, and is responsible for giving out 40% of the money raised for good causes by the National Lottery. We are committed to helping communities and people most in need and have been rolling out grants to health, education, environmental and charitable causes across the UK since 2004.We are currently looking to appoint two new members to our Northern Ireland Committee. Applications are welcome from individuals who have the skills and experience to meet the challenges that this role will present. We would particularly welcome applications from women, young people, people from black and minority backgrounds and people with a disability as we are currently under-represented in these areas. In addition we would also welcome experience and knowledge of the social enterprise and/or private sector as these are considered gap areas.

You will be expected to demonstrate:

  • An understanding of the Big Lottery Fund’s mission and values
  • A strong track record of strategic decision making, a clear understanding of the Northern Ireland political and social contexts
  • Demonstrable public speaking
  • Presentation and media handling skills
  • A good understanding of the issues the Big Lottery Fund will face in Northern Ireland.

The time commitment is expected to be in the region of up to 2 days per month. Successful applicants will receive an annual fixed payment of £5232. Legitimate expenses incurred on Big Lottery Fund business, including travel and subsistence costs, will be paid in line with our policies.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 12 noon on Friday 17 July 2015.

  • Successful applicants will be required to formally take up their posts by 1 November 2015.
