Appointment of nine Council Members

The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) is looking for new members to join the reconstituted Council from 1 April 2016, as follows:

  • Four lay Council Members (including a lay Chair of the Education and Registration Standards Committee)
  • Five registrant Council Members (osteopaths)

Appointments start 1 April 2016 (initially for up to four years).

All appointments are subject to the approval by the Privy Council of The General Osteopathic Council (Constitution) (Amendment) Order 2015.

The candidates

We are looking for committed individuals with a wide range of knowledge and experience able to work well in a team and committed to effective governance. You will need to have a demonstrable interest in healthcare regulation and be able to contribute to the strategic oversight and scrutiny of the GOsC’s work.

Remuneration

There is an annual fee of £7,500 per annum with an additional £2,250 for the Chair of the Education and Registration Standards Committee. Travel and subsistence expenses are also refundable.

The time commitment is anticipated to be no more than 18 days a year.
