FREE Workshop on Public Appointments in Northern Ireland

Demystifying the Public Appointments Process

Public bodies make decisions that affect almost every aspect of our daily lives, from the arts, to education to health to transport to sport. A ‘public appointment’ is an appointment to the Board of Directors of a Public Body.
Have you ever thought about applying for a public appointment but were put off by the process or because you thought it wasn’t for you?
The Commissioner for Public Appointments is keen to encourage a wider and more diverse pool of people to put themselves forward for appointment to the Boards of our Public Bodies.
To demystify the public appointment process, the Commissioner is hosting a series of free, half day workshops that will explain:
  • what an appointment is and why you should consider applying;
  • what the appointment process entails and how to complete an application;
  • how long the process takes and who makes the final decision.
The next available workshops are due to take place on
  • Tuesday 22nd March 2016 10.00am to 12.30pm
  • Wednesday 27th April 2016 10.00am to 12.30pm
If you would be interested in attending one of the workshops contact us by e-mail at or by telephone on 028 9052 4820.
