Appointment of Legal and Psychology/Psychiatry Parole Commissioners for Northern Ireland (part-time)

The Department of Justice is seeking to appoint a number of Legal and Psychology/Psychiatry Commissioners to the Parole Commissioners for Northern Ireland.

The Parole Commissioners for Northern Ireland are an independent body, critical to the process of deciding whether offenders eligible for parole are safe to release back into the community and whether prisoners on licence recalled to prison can be re-released.

  • Remuneration: Remuneration will be on the basis of a set payment for each completed case with a reduced rate being paid for non-casework. Remuneration is subject to PAYE and NIC and is paid monthly in arrears.
  • Period of appointment and commencement date: the appointments will be the period ending on 08 September 2019.
  • Time commitment: The projected caseload for each commissioner, once fully trained, will be 30-40 cases per annum, however this is demand led.
  • Regulated by CPA NI: No
