Chair and Members wanted at the Historic Monuments Council

The Historic Monuments Council acts as a statutory advisor to the Historic Environment Division of the Department for Communities. The Council has a range of responsibilities through which it advises on matters, such as, the scheduling of monuments, management and conservation of monuments in State Care, maritime archaeology, industrial and defence heritage, and Areas of Significant Archaeological Interest within Local Development Plans.

Details on the chair post are:

  • remuneration: unpaid, but eligible for an allowance for travelling and other expenses
  • period of appointment: five years from 1 February 2018
  • time commitment: approximately three days per month
  • regulated by CPA NI: yes
  • closing date: 12.00 noon on 3 November 2017
