The Scottish Government is seeking to appoint a new Chair to lead Creative Scotland in the delivery of the ambitions set out in its 10 Year Plan, Unlocking Potential, Embracing Ambition, to the benefit of the arts and culture and to the people of Scotland as a whole.
They are seeking to appoint a dynamic and adaptive leader with proven experience at senior level, who will lead the Board and work effectively with the Chief Executive, Janet Archer, her leadership team and her team of dedicated, committed and experienced staff.
Creative Scotland is the public body that supports the arts, screen and creative industries across all parts of Scotland on behalf of everyone who lives, works, studies or visits here.
- remuneration: The Chair appointment attracts remuneration of £13,200 per annum, based on a daily fee of £275 for an average of up to 4 days per month, plus reasonable expenses. The appointment is not pensionable. All reasonable receipted dependant-carer expenses, including childcare, and for support required helping you carry out your duties effectively will also be reimbursed where applicable.
- period of appointment: Scottish Ministers determine the length of appointments for Board appointments. Appointments are normally for a four year term, with the possibility of re-appointment up to a maximum combined length of eight years.
- time commitment: At present the anticipated time commitment for the Chair is around 4 days per month on Board business including attending events. There will also be periods when pressure of business will require additional time.
