The Department of Health is recruiting 2 Non-Executive Lay Members and 1 Non-Executive Trade Union Member to the Public Health Agency (PHA) with effect from early 2018 for a maximum period of 4 years.

The PHA is a multi-disciplinary, multi-professional body with a strong regional and local presence. The PHA was established to provide a renewed and enhanced focus on public health and well-being by bringing together a wide range of public health functions under one organisation. Its four key functions are:
- Health and social wellbeing improvement;
- Health protection;
- Public health support to commissioning and policy development;
- HSC research and development.

Lay Member – There are no specific eligibility requirements for these posts.
Trade Union Member – Applications for this category must be supported and certified by a HSC Trade Union or the NI Committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
Desirable Criteria for all applicants:
All applicants must show on their application form how they meet one or more of the following desirable criteria:
- Experience of absorbing and comprehending large volumes of information (often complex or technical) in a short period of time
- Commercial experience
- Experience of consumer affairs
- Expertise in disciplines directly relevant to Public Health and Health Improvement or other relevant disciplines, for example, psychology or social anthropology
- Experience of or interest in public health.

Remuneration: Non-Executive Member £9,004 per annum – Time Commitment is a minimum of 5 days per month
