Board Members wanted by Oxfam Ireland

Oxfam is a global movement of people who won’t live with the injustice of poverty. Together we save and rebuild lives in disasters. We help people build better lives for themselves.
Oxfam is one of the world’s largest and most influential development organisations. Supported across the island of Ireland for 60 years, we save lives and help rebuild livelihoods when crisis strikes, we find practical and innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and we campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them.

We are a secular, independent not-for-profit agency, part of a global family that collectively operates in over 90 countries. We are at a very exciting point in sustainable development and the coming years will see real progress in the eradication of extreme poverty through the collective action of governments, NGOs and the private sector, driven by the power of people against poverty.

To enable us to deliver on our ambition and achieve our mission we want to build a world-class team of volunteer Board members to help us achieve the highest levels of governance and impact. Our Board will provide strategic advice on finance, programme and policy and support us in implementing strategies for our future growth and development.

We want to reflect the globally diverse nature of our work in our Board and welcome invitations from people representing all demographic sections of our society who can bring a wide range of experience and knowledge to our work.

In return, we offer our Board members the opportunity to make a very real and lasting difference at the highest level to the lives of people living in poverty throughout the world.
