Parades Commission for Northern Ireland – Commissioner

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland invites applications for appointment to the Parades Commission for Northern Ireland. This competition may also be used to fill other positions, should they arise.

The Commission

The Parades Commission for Northern Ireland is a public body operating as an executive non-departmental public body accountable through the Chair to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.  

The powers and duties of the Commission are to be found in the Public Processions (Northern Ireland) Act 1998.

Details of the appointment:

  • remuneration: £22,000 per annum
  • period of appointment: The term of office will be for a period of three years from the date of appointment.
  • time commitment: The expected time commitment is 1 day per week, but this is likely to increase to 2 or more days in the April to August period. Occasional evening and weekend meetings are likely.
  • regulated by CPA NI: no
  • closing date:  applications to be received by 11.59pm on 26 January 2018
