England Committee Chair and Members (x2) – Big Lottery Fund

Every year the Big Lottery Fund gives out millions of pounds from the UK’s National Lottery to good causes, with money going to community groups and health, education and environment projects.

Applications for the role of England Committee Chair are sought from candidates with a deep understanding of the community and charity sector within England; an awareness of the policy and regulatory framework within which the Fund operates; and have an understanding of portfolio management, funding, and senior-level oversight.

Applications are sought for the role of Member from individuals with either experience of funding or senior leadership in either the charity or community sector. All candidates should be able to contribute to the development of the Fund’s strategic framework; have strong stakeholder management skills; and have knowledge and experience of civil society and civil society organisations.

Policy responsibility for the BLF, including setting policy directions, rests with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

We are very keen to broaden the geographic base of our Board outside London, and to increase the Board’s diversity.

To complement the skills and experience of the existing members of its Board, the BLF is specifically looking to appoint:

Member 1

An individual with significant experience of the funding world, preferably in the civil society field.

Member 2

An individual with significant experience of executive senior leadership in either the charity or community sector.
