Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland

The Executive Office invites applications for the position of Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland.

The Police Ombudsman is responsible for the provision of an independent and impartial police complaints service and for providing strategic leadership to the Office, both in terms of its corporate management and in relation to its core investigative work. 


The post carries an annual remuneration of £134,841 (under review).

Period of appointment

Seven years, or the date on which the person appointed reaches the age of 70, whichever is the shorter.  It is anticipated that the start date will be July 2019.

Time commitment

The post is full-time.
