COVID-19 is with us and will remain so for some time. In order to make Boardroom Apprentice happen this year we will need to remain flexible and responsive in how we deliver the learning days, how Boards meet and other activities that will come up during the year. We are asking you to be agile, flexible and responsive so that we can deliver Boardroom Apprentice in full. Please answer the following questions:

This programme is about attracting new people onto board positions in our public and third sectors. This programme is open to anyone over the age of 16 as long as you have not held a public board position and have had no or little third sector board experience.

This is a 12-month Board learning and development programme. We require a significant commitment from you which includes full attendance at eight leanring days. These are mandatory along with the attendance at Board/Committee Meetings. Please review the dates of the learning days in the information pack (or website) and ensure you can meet all the dates. If you are unable to meet all the dates, you will not be eligible to apply. Please do not be tempted to say you can attend all, knowing that you will not be able to.

Commitment to giving the time needed to attend all Board meetings, committee meetings (some of which are quarterly some of which are monthly). The host boards have indicated where it is known the dates of meeting for the upcoming year. Check your diary and ensure you are able to attend fully. Once allocated to a board confirmation of all meetings/events will be shared with you for populating in your diary. *Please note* Due to COVID-19, Board/Committee meetings are likely to be virtual until it is safe to bring people together.

Due to COVID-19 we will not be able to bring people together as we would normally have done at previous welcome events. Eileen proposes to hold a number of small group virtual calls in July/August post selection.

If you are employed you will need your employers support in order to undertake and complete this programme. This is a requirement that must be met before you apply.

Please detail the top three boards in which you would like to be placed and detail why you want to be placed with that board You will be asked to provide in preferred order 1 to 3. (It is mandatory to complete at least 1 preference.) When selecting your top three boards, please review the commitment required by the Board. It cannot be emphasised enough that the time commitment for attendance at meetings, events and preparation at home is more intensive on some boards than others. Regardless of which board you choose, your commitment to the Board is critical.
