Department for the Economy is seeking to appoint up to 6 new Members to the Board of the Health & Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI), an executive Non- Departmental Public Body with Crown status.  This is a rewarding and important role. Please note that experience of Health & Safety issues is not essential.

HSENI’s vision is to achieve world-class performance in workplace health and safety and therefore improve the overall economic and social wellbeing of our community.

The appointments are effective from 1 May 2021 for a three year term.

The time commitment amounts to 1.5 days per month or equivalent and current remuneration is £3,980 per annum. All reasonable receipted dependent carer expenses will also be reimbursed where applicable.

We particularly welcome applications from women, young people, people with a disability and those from ethnic minorities as these groups are currently under-represented on the Board.

We are operating the Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants with a disability.

No academic qualifications are required for the post. Applicants are required to submit evidence of competency against 4 essential criteria in total – 3 mandatory criteria and a choice of 1 of the remaining 3 criteria.
