Southern Regional College is a College of Further and Higher Education with campuses located in Newry, Portadown, Armagh, Banbridge and Lurgan and is well placed to provide learners, employers and the local community with a world-class facility to satisfy all their educational needs and to realise its aim in establishing a reputation for outstanding quality in teaching, training and business support, not just within Northern Ireland but nationally and internationally. Southern Regional College is a Non-Departmental Public Body within the budget responsibility and ambit of the Department for the Economy and is an incorporated body whose legal status derives from the Further Education (Northern Ireland) Order.
The College’s Governing Body comprises of Members appointed by the Minister for the Economy, staff and students of the College, the Chief Executive Officer and members co-opted by the Governing Body. The College’s Instrument of Government allows for a membership of not less than 12 nor more than 18 persons. Up to two Members may be co-opted by the Governing Body to bring added expertise and experience.
