The Department of Education (DE) invites applications for appointments to the Board of the Middletown Centre for Autism (MCA).

MCA is a joint north south initiative with funding provided by the Department of Education (DE) and the Department of Education and Skills (DES) to support the promotion of excellence in the development and harmonisation of education and allied services to children and young people with autistic spectrum disorders. 

Applications are invited for the positions of Vice Chairperson and at least two Directors.

The remuneration of the Vice Chairperson is based on a daily rate of £200 and Directors £160 (plus relevant travel expenses, based upon NI Civil Service rates).

All applicants must meet three essential criteria on Demonstrating Good Governance; Strategic Decision Making; and Working with Others. In addition applicants for Vice Chairperson will also be expected to meet the following essential criteria – Strategic Leadership.

Where it is necessary to prepare a shortlist for interview, the following desirable criteria will be applied: Relevant knowledge/experience – evidence of your knowledge and experience of special education and autistic spectrum disorders.
