The Prison Service Pay Review Body is one of eight Pay Review Bodies that make recommendations to the Government on the pay of staff in key parts of the public sector. As with all review bodies, the PSPRB operates independent of Government, the Prison Service and trades unions.
We are now looking for a new member with Northern Ireland expertise. They must have a good understanding of the political context and community concerns in Northern Ireland.
The role of the PSPRB is to provide independent advice on the remuneration of governors and operational managers, prison officers and support grades in the Prison Services of England and Wales and, separately, Northern Ireland. Continue reading
The Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking to appoint at least 19 new members to the Independent Monitoring Board for Northern Ireland.
An Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) is appointed for each prison in Northern Ireland. Members come from all backgrounds, cover a wide range of ages and have a diverse combination of skills and experiences. DOJ are looking for people who are open-minded and committed to diversity, equality and human rights. People under the age of 40 are currently under represented and applications from them would be particularly welcome. In keeping with the departmental policy on diversity, DOJ would also welcome applications from those not currently serving on public bodies. Continue reading
