Abbeyfield & Wesley Seeks Volunteer Board Members

Abbeyfield & Wesley is a charity and housing association providing a range of housing and support for older people, including sheltered schemes, supported housing and residential dementia care.

The Abbeyfield movement is celebrating its 60th anniversary and the original ethos is still as relevant today as it was in 1956:

  • Older people have an important role to play amongst their families, friends and in their community;
  • Overcoming loneliness and insecurity can make all the difference to an older person’s well-being and quality of life;
  • Local people have an essential part to play in helping older people in their community.

There are three vacancies for voluntary board members. Whilst we are particularly looking for those with knowledge of finance, residential care and the needs of older people, we would also welcome applications from people with knowledge of PR and social media.

This is an exciting time for Abbeyfield & Wesley as we review our provision to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of the growing older population and are already in the process of expanding dementia services.
