Thrive, Making Culture Count are looking for a new Chair and Trustees for our board. You’ll be involved in shaping the growth and direction of thrive and joining a dynamic and well-supported board team.

What We Do:
We help cultural organisations unlock their potential through better understanding their audiences. We do this by producing research on NI cultural audiences, and by providing practical support to help organisations to increase or diversify their audiences. We work with around 200 arts, culture and heritage organisations right across NI, and sometimes beyond that, who vary in size, location, remit and ambition. We are a charity but we also have an increasing focus on increasing our sustainability through income generation and business development.   Continue reading

Craft NI is seeking to appoint a new Chairperson to its Board. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the arts, understands the benefits they bring for the individual and the wider community, who is willing to undertake the responsibilities of a Chairperson and wants to help shape the future of contemporary craft in Northern Ireland.

The Chairperson will be instrumental in helping Craft NI in its mission “To build an integrated, entrepreneurial and vibrant contemporary crafts industry in Northern Ireland, actively supported by regional and local stakeholders, that contributes increasingly to the creative, cultural and economic life of Northern Ireland.

Creative Exchange is an artists’ studios in East Belfast that delivers noteworthy projects on a national and international scale. We are currently looking for volunteers to join the Board.

About Creative Exchange

Creative Exchange will celebrate its 20th birthday this year. We are an artists’ studio, based in East Belfast, core funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI). We work on individual and collective projects, most notably Art In The East Side, Ireland’s largest outdoor exhibition. Audiences Northern Ireland (ANI), a Charity focusing on audience development across Northern Ireland, is recruiting new board members.  The organisation supports the Arts, Culture and Creative industries to understand, diversify, and increase reach to audiences. Through consultancy, training and bespoke collaborative projects, ANI ensures its partners are better equipped to optimise their public benefit and sustainability.

ANI currently partners with 120 organisations representing some of the most recognisable names in the Northern Ireland Arts and Cultural sector and include the MAC, the Millennium Forum,  Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, Golden Thread Gallery and the Lyric Theatre.      Continue reading

Chair and Directors/Trustees – Audiences Northern Ireland

Following on from a very effective tenure of office of our outgoing Chair, Eileen Mullan, the Board of Audiences Northern Ireland (ANI) are seeking to recruit a Chair and also to recruit additional directors to our Board to address a current vacancy and up to three further vacancies in this calendar year.

These roles are voluntary positions and are not remunerated.  Directors/Trustees are expected to attend six general meetings of the Board each year.  Meetings are held in Belfast.

Suitable candidates will have senior experience in a leadership role as a director on the Board of a limited company, public sector organisation or charitable organisation.   Evidence of such senior experience would be as Chair or Vice Chair of a standing committee of a Board (Audit & Risk, General Purposes or Remuneration Committee).Alternatively, experience in a voluntary organisation as honorary treasurer for a period of not less than two years would be deemed suitable.  As the Chair is also a director of the organisation, it is obligatory that the Chair meets all of the criteria for selection as a director.

Suitable candidates will have senior experience and skills in one or more of the following areas: Human Resources Management, Company Law, and Financial Management, Change Management, Programme or Project Governance.

Completed applications are to be received not later than noon on 18 May 15.  It is intended that interviews for all roles will take place in late May 15.

Audiences Northern Ireland is committed to equality.  Selection will be on the basis of merit and competency.  Confirmation of appointment to both roles will be made in June 2015.  The appointments will be from July 2015, for a period of three years.
