Nexus NI is a voluntary organisation with impact, committed to supporting those who have been affected by sexual violence, promoting sexual health and education and supporting professionals through training.  We have more than 30 years’ experience in our field and our services are delivered across Northern Ireland.

We have a voluntary Board of Directors who have two main roles; Supporting and scrutinising the CEO on the basis of the Good Corporate Governance and assisting in the formulating of strategy to achieve Nexus NI’s objectives.

We are looking for people who have expertise / experience in:

  • Counselling / Psychotherapy
  • PR / Marketing Communications
  • Accountancy/ Finance
  • Property/Estate Management
  • Digital Media

Individuals are asked to commit the time necessary to responsibly fulfill their commitment to Nexus NI. The board meetings occur bi-monthly, with some committee meetings across the year.

As a board member of Nexus NI you have the opportunity to do the following:

  • Help to steer the strategic direction of a charity with over 30 years’ experience within its field
  • Avail of personal and professional development opportunities during your tenure
  • Develop within the board into office bearer roles
  • Have an impact in the lives of those who have been affected by sexual violence
  • Opportunity to develop further professional networks

Legal Services Oversight Commissioner for Northern Ireland wanted.

The Department of Finance is seeking to appoint a Legal Services Oversight Commissioner for Northern Ireland.

As set out in the Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 (the Act), the Department of Finance, in consultation with the Lord Chief Justice, is seeking to identify a person for appointment as Legal Services Oversight Commissioner (the Commissioner).

The role of Legal Services Oversight Commissioner is a newly created position. The Commissioner will have a strategic role in that they will be responsible for oversight of the complaints handling systems of the Law Society and the Council of the Bar. However, they will not have operational responsibility for dealing with individual complaints.

The Commissioner’s powers will include the power to investigate how complaints are handled by the relevant professional body, the power to set targets in relation to complaints handling, the power to require a professional body to submit plans relating to complaints handling, and the power to penalise the professional body in certain circumstances.

Chair and Four Non-Executive Directors Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall Limited

The transformation of Belfast as a destination of choice for global business tourists is being spearheaded  by the creation of Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall Limited (BWUHL). This pioneering and distinctive new venture will be instrumental in attracting business to the city, and delivering a mix of commercial and social outcomes – many of which will add value to BWUHL’s wider network of partners.

We are now recruiting a Chair and four non-executive directors who will form the Board and govern this new commercial venture in a way that ensures the delivery of exciting and testing business objectives. Commercial depth, entrepreneurial in managing risk, and a collegiate approach to governing are all core requirements of the new Board members.
