Non Executive Director opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists at British Gymnastics for a Non-Executive Director who can offer guidance, support, expertise and an objective perspective on the key matters of strategy, governance, financial affairs and risk management.

British Gymnastics is enjoying a period of great success: participation is rising, membership is increasing, and our medal winning British Teams have never been so prolific. We are not an organisation that is content to stop there, and we have already started work to meet the new challenges and opportunities that we know are ahead of us.

It is an opportune time to join the Board which has recently undergone a strategy review.  This has resulted in a greater focus on financial sustainability, the capacity of the sport with regard to coaches and spaces, talent development and improving perceived brand value from the perspective of our customers.

We are seeking applicants who have a varied range of skills and experience, including the ability to challenge in a constructive way, to be forward thinking and to be passionate about making a difference.  Whilst not essential, we would welcome applicants with athlete experience in any sport as well as applicants from diverse communities and backgrounds.  What is also important is that you understand the value of diversity within the sport and particularly at board level and in the workplace.

If you believe you have the experience we are looking for, British Gymnastics would like to encourage you to apply for this position which will only require an investment of approximately 6 – 10 days annually. You will play a big part in helping British Gymnastics deliver a strategic plan that will build on our past success and further develop the sport, both within the UK and Internationally on the journey to Tokyo and beyond.
