The Department for the Economy (DfE) is seeking to appoint eight members to the board of NI Screen. It is expected that four board members will be appointed on 16 December 2024 and a further four members will be appointed in July 2025.

The length of term of appointment will vary between three and five years and may be renewable for a second term.

The Board has corporate responsibility for ensuring that NI Screen fulfils the aims and objectives set by the partner Department and approved by the Minister, and for promoting the efficient, economic and effective use of staff and other resources by NI Screen. To this end, and in pursuit of its wider corporate responsibilities, the Board shall:

  • Set the strategic direction for NI Screen, including its mission, vision, values and strategic objectives and oversee the implementation of the organisation’s strategic and business plans;
  • Oversee the development, promotion and implementation of policies and programmes for NI Screen;
  • Monitor performance against corporate plans, budgets and targets;
  • Oversee the strategic management of NI Screen’s staff, finance, information and physical resources;
  • Oversee the implementation of NI Screen’s corporate governance arrangements including risk management;
  • Oversee the work of any sub-committee of the Board and receive regular updates on performance; and
  • Consider any other matters as deemed appropriate.
